It's Great to be 8...

It has been 1 year since we baptized my oldest daughter. It was a very special day that we were able to spend with friends and family. She decided to have a waffle bar after the baptism. My mom and I had so much fun setting up and creating a way to celebrate M's choice to be baptized. I always feel like it is hard to decorate a church building! But, a few simple things will make your child's special day EXTRA special!

I put two powdered donuts into a baggie and made a tag that said "It's Great to be 8" on one side and then "Thank you for sharing this special day with me" on the back. I have the silhouette file if anyone is interested!

Last Minute Teacher Valentine...

Being sick sure put a cramp in my Valentine preparations. I needed a cute, quick gift for my daughter's teacher. She doesn't love all the 'treats' so I wanted something else. I found a cute printable but it was not meant for Valentine's Day. I decided I could quickly come up with something that was more Valentine-y using the same quote.

You can download this printable here. Send it to your favorite printer or print at home, put it in a frame, tie a cute ribbon around it and you have yourself a cute teacher valentine! You could even mod podge it to an 8x10 board for her to hang in her room! (If you don't wait to do things until the last minute like me!!)

*Please remember this printable is for personal use only.

New Beginnings...

I started planning for a fantastic New Beginnings and then I was released from my calling in the Young Women organization. So I was finishing up a few loose ends and this is what I have been working on...

I had found this idea over at My Computer is My Canvas. I loved that all the values are represented. The only problem was they didn't match my color scheme! So I figured out all the dimensions and made my own to coordinate! (I'm a little over the top when it comes to matching!) They were super simple to put together. I even made them with my Cameo so it did all the cutting for me! Using the Hershey nuggets, you wrap them in the values, attach to the tray (I used double sided tape so they would not move!), slide them into a pretzel bag, and staple the cute topper on! Simple, but thoughtful gift for the Young Women.

Young Women 2014 Theme...

This year the mutual theme for 2014 is "Come Unto Christ". As part of our Sunday display table we have the yearly theme along with the YW theme framed. We put these out every Sunday. Last year I paid for these prints. This year I could not find one that I really liked. So I made my own! AND... I'm going to share them!
The first is an 8x10 of the mutual theme...

**Download the Mutual Theme for 2014 here.

The second is the YW theme that we recite every Sunday in opening exercises. It is an 11x14 print. *I had to fix a misspelled word in the theme below, so here is a corrected version! And then I also made one that is easier to read. That one is also available to download below! Enjoy!!*

**Download the above YW Theme here.

**Download the revised edition here.

ENJOY!!
